Good Luck for Glasgow

Uttoxeter Skating Club would like to wish the best of luck to Vicki, Carl and Gracie as they go to Glasgow to compete in the British Inclusive Skating Chamionships 2019. This competition allows those with additional needs to compete in an environment that is supportive and inclusive, whilst taking into account the skater’s particular needs.

Gracie and her coach David pose before Gracie's first competition.

This will be Vicki’s second time competing at these championships having won gold last year. This year she will be entering even more disciplines than last year as she competes in the Free Program, Free Dance, Pattern Dance and Compulsory Elements categories. Vicki is aiming to reach a score in double figures in her Free Program, bettering her impressive
score from last year.

Carl will be competing in his first exclusively inclusive competition, as he competes in both the Free Program and Compulsory Elements at Level 4. He has previously represented Uttoxeter at the 2018 Artistic competition in Milton Keynes in the inclusive category. Carl goes into the competition with a high level of competitive experience having competed both at Uttoxeter and nationally.

Gracie will be taking part in her first competition and is looking forward to impressing the judges in Glasgow. Having started skating less than a year ago Gracie has come on leaps and bounds, reaching a level 8 in Skate Excellence. She enjoyed showing off her program during the Spring Showcase and will hope to replicate this performance when she steps onto the ice in Glasgow.

The British Inclusive Championships will be a great experience for all three of these skaters and we wish them all the best over the next week!
